About Me

My photo
Thespis
I am a 27 year teacher. I have a B.S. Ed. in English, speech and theatre from Northwest Missouri State University. I hold an MA in Theatre: Acting, Playwriting and Directing from KSU. I have also completed post-graduate work at Northwestern University and more... As a teacher I am deeply committed to the success of every student. All students deserve opportunity, good educators inspire student success and every student deserves a caring, qualified and committed teacher. I have been with my wife, Mrs. Kim Muta McLaughlin, for 18 wonderful years. I have three cats: Kohl, Opie and Teddy. I am also blessed with a great family and wonderful friends. Phony people, divas and suck-ups are a I believe that a quality public education has always been the cornerstone and great equalizer in our country. To that end, I do "the other part of my job" with advocacy and union work. Protecting schools by putting the student's interest as the center for our discussions is what the National Education Association, the Iowa State Education Association and the Lewis Central Education Association stand to protect and ensure.
